David, the principal solicitor of Ryken and Associates has 22 years experience as a barrister and solicitor. After a number of years working for a well-known human rights law firm specialising in immigration, refugee law and employment law, David set up his own business in 1995, specialising in immigration law including corporate immigration, judicial review and tribunal work. He is now joined by eight staff.
David is a member of a number of committees and regularly writes papers both for conferences in New Zealand and internationally. David has a reading knowledge in a number of European languages. Since 2010 David has tutored for the Australian National University New Zealand Immigration Law and Practice course.
David has experience in all types of litigation and immigration cases and has been involved as counsel or as instructing solicitor in some leading cases. By instructing Ryken and Associates clients get the benefit of having access to senior counsel should the need arise.
