She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1996 and has practised both family and immigration law. She joined Ryken and Associates in July 2004. Isabel is a fluent speaker of Portuguese. She lived in Mozambique and South Africa prior to immigrating to New Zealand.
